Whew, what a week! Just like the weather, this week was a total rollercoaster ride (while I was definitely torn about the warm temperatures because, climate change, can’t lie, I was SO enjoying them). It felt like something would go right just to have three other things go wrong *sigh* But there were some really sunny moments in a week peppered with grey skies. This is what I’m feeling grateful for this week:
You guys! These shoes 😍😍😍
While my next shoe purchase actually needs to be sneakers (oops) these shoes happened after I’d left the keys to my shoe drawer (yes I have a shoe drawer) at work at home and I only had the rain boots I was wearing, which were aggravating my tendonitis. After a meeting nearby I strolled through the mall over lunch on my way back to the office and I found these… in my size… on sale! When does that ever happen? Never? Exactly.
Ugh I love them. Loafers? Check. Pink? Check. A little too much? CHECK PLUS! I am so my mother’s daughter.
Some ideas for the next time you’re in the mood to lift someone’s spirits! Vocalizing my love and appreciation for my friends is something I’ve been working on (maybe a future post?) and this was a great reminder. I also love the idea of buying a stranger’s coffee – such a lovely and unexpected surprise!
Surviving my first CrossFit Open workout.
I’m actually planning a blog post on how walking the talk led me to do this, but 17.1 aka the first workout of the open was last Saturday and I did it! I was sooo nervous (and a little scared), but there was something incredible walking into the gym (or box for you CrossFit folks) and being greeted by people digging deep and giving it their all to get through the (intense!) workout, while an entire room of people cheered them on. This week’s Open workout is going to be another great test (without all those damn burpees – yay!), but this time I’m excited to get it done. It’s amazing what our bodies can do we turn off our brains and just move – I’m so grateful for that reminder this week.
I am SO excited for this! That season two ending?👌🏻 Perfection. This show is the perfect blend of an all-star cast, well developed characters and a phenomenal storyline and it looks like we’re in for some more hilarious antics this season. Plus anytime Lily Tomlin and Martin Sheen reunited, you know I’m there (you West Wing fans know what I’m talking about – Debbie Fiderer forever).
